I concur that the Foil tape will NOT hold tedlar to the wing for any great length of time....I had a piece that was 20 years old in a trailer on the wings, and the glue was so brittle and dry that it practically fell off when I touched it.
Im sure it would have fallen off long before had the craft been out in the sun and flying.
Foil is only to be used to protect the regular tape from UV exposure, unless your willing to be a test pilot.
Also, I have aluminized mylar tape which is silver, just like the wing skins, and infinately lighter that the heavy foil type tape.
Its a little pricy at $80 for 180' but it looks so pretty. Again only as a cover up of the regular tape to protect from UV.
Much easier to apply as well, and more adhesion strength than the foil type tape.
