Dale K. tested them and concluded that they acually induced drag.

Any streamlining with fairings is surely going to help.

best is about 4 to 1 ratio. I have not faired a lazair strut but have done others.

eg Kitfox will gain 7 to 10 mph from 80 mph to 88 or a 912 Kitfox from 100 to 110 mph.

On a lazair you would likely see a smalll gain and I would guess about 2 or 3 mph at best.

Save your money an make some out of alum.
make out of 2 sections for each strut unless you not have jury stuts > which imo is a mod that should be done on all lazairs and this would be a good time to do both.

RAA had a article about making them a few months back. I have made them on my brake but a press brake with the rounded edge does in fact give a better Leading edge but only asthetically IMO.
