FYI, guys, the two place Lazair prototype used an original, stock Series 1 wing - the one with the .016" skinned D-tube spar! IIRC, only the .020" cap mod was done under the engines to the root. I flew it with 185 Rotaxes, NGL Westlakes and electric start KFMs. Dale Kramer talked me into going up with him back in 1983 in horrible winds - he was testing carb mods on the KFMs and wanted to fly it "right now". He claimed he needed "ballast", and I was the only warm "ballast" available. That flight was one of the roughest, bouncing around flights I've ever experienced in ANY airplane. After that day, I've never had any concerns about my light, series 1 wings!
