Hi Everybody,
I just bought a very damaged Lazair II, and would like to totally rebuild it, however, there is not even one rib good enough to use as a template to make new once.
So, my question is; Does anybody know where I could get a complete set of plans or drawings?
I'm looking forward to visiting this site often and reading about all the interesting stories from all of you.

YOur d cells must be destryed as well ?

Post us some pics.

I have all templates for Wing ribs. They are easy to cut out but you have to shape the edges to fit the capstrips.

What are you doing for Dcells?
I have one set left over right now and I will be making wings outta them soon for a Ser 3 . These D cells are built the same as the Elite and 2 seater with the same stiffners and mods used on them with first 4 feet doubler LE Skin. So a 25 HP engines would be no trouble.

I am near London.

Hi Shorty,
Here is a pic that shows the d-cell where it needs repair.
All the rest is in good shape, however, I'll open them up anyway to see the condition of the nose ribs and replace where needed.
The spar on both wings is in perfect condition.
"till next time,
John

Nice pic.

So - -was leading edge just dented ?
Usually the spar will bend inside or the zileron controls .
And the Root box.

New D cell ski ?

gotta bend it and install it......... then you have to line up all the old holes.
YUK !!
I learnt long ago it easier and faster for me to make a new spar with new glue on ribs and new nose ribs if needed.

it has to be pressed together tightly and i could not imagine doing it with out a proper jig to saddle the LE skin and pushing in the SPAR / RIBs.

Hi Shorty,
WOW ! you're quite the sales man and I can see you do beautiful work, my compliments.
Yes, the leading edge was slightly dented and no damage on the spar part.
What is the difference between a wing for a single seater and one for a two seater?
What would you charge for a copy of a wing rib template?
All options and posibilities are still on the table, I need to research more before I start making decisions on how I'm going to tackle this.
I really appreciate your replies.
Thanks !
John

Hi Xman,
No I wish, I wonder whether there are ways to upgrade a single seater, I'd love to try it.
