Well I kind of went the opposite to my original plan.

Got a fancy pants ASI/ALT combo and a pair of tiny tachs.

pretty groovy looking. make sure you varnish or seal that nice maple really well or it will decay in the weather.

that is a slick looking ASI/ALT combo. very modern.

I sealed the wood with epoxy and then finished with white paint.

If the wood is in bad shape by the end of the season I'll get a new one laser cut in aluminum. I have a CNC mill but it is not capable of cutting metal so most stuff I make is 1/8 light plywood.
