I did fly my series 1 with the floats. The performance, even with my re-drive Pioneer's, was pretty marginal, especially in hot weather. It could, however, get off the water very well. With the regular Pioneer set up, it was very hard to even do that. I believe that the desire to sell floats, which are very popular in Canada, was the driving force to go to a larger engine. One of the guys at Ultraflight had some knowledge of the Rotax 185, and they found that they could purchase it locally. Although it was a very old design, they felt it was well suited because it produced it's rated power at a fairly low rpm compared to most 2 cycle engines. Also, Dale had an aversion to reduction drives due to complexity and cost. The Lazair already had a cost penalty just by have two engines, compared to most of their competitor's one.

I've been to Yellowstone many a time, but I've never seen it from on top like that. It must have been a great flight to take.

Here is a pic from last summer (July 4th). This is Yellowstone National Park from 12,000 feet. Yeah, you can't make out the bears and buffalo. I know that I was quite high. I was still getting used to my airplane/engines. There aren't too many roads to land on in the park. So the altitude gave me a few more options. What a great view though from up there. The air was completely smooth. Felt like I was on a jet flight with the clouds being so far below me.

We had some Server issues over last month or so. We certainly hope that it is resolved.
I have had numberous emails about this issue and we finally figured it out.
Was not fize size as it is set at 50 mg. It was a permissioms issue on one directory that somehow got screwy over on backup session.
Regardless - it seems to be resolved now.
